Reply with quote | #1 | I have recently applied to the VA because of my lung cancer regarding the Agent Orange provisions. In my application, I included pages from our 67 and 68 cruise books about our visits in Viet Nam. However, now the VA has asked that I provide dates that the ship was located in RVN within 60 days. As I recall, it was an ongoing thing, but perhaps someone has a better memory than me with some actual dates. Thanks. Floyd |

Reply with quote | #5 | Is there a web site to go to get the ships logs. We don't live close to DC or Maryland to go so I was wondering if anyone has gone on line to order the ships logs.
Thank you |

Support HR 2254 to clarify presumptions relating to the exposure of certain veterans who served in the vicinity of the Republic of Vietnam.'
Allow Blue water Navy vets to be compensated for Agent Orange Exposure!
Rep. Bob Filner (Calif.) has introduced HR 2254 service members who served in the surrounding waters off the coast of Vietnam and in the skies above will be allowed to file a claim for exposure to Agent Orange. The bill will reverse the VA's decision that prevents the "Blue Water Navy" military retirees and veterans from claiming presumptive status for the diseases associated with Agent Orange exposure. Please ask your US Representative to support this important bill. |

Reply with quote | #8 | Latest update on Agent Orange:
The Department of Veterans Affairs established a service-connection for Vietnam veterans suffering from Parkinson's disease, ischemic heart disease (IHD) and B-cell leukemias such as hairy-cell leukemia. These illnesses are now considered "presumed" illnesses. This "presumption" simplifies and speeds up the application process for VA benefits. It is important to note that this new policy will not go into effect until sometime in 2010. At which point affected veterans will be urged to submit new disability claims. Additional information about Agent Orange and VA's services and programs for veterans exposed to the chemical are available at VA's Agent Orange webpage, or call the toll-free helpline at 800-749-8387. |
